All vehicles used on a public road are required to have a vehicle license. This license is issued by the Seychelles Licensing Authority after certifying that the vehicle has been tested and certified road worthiness.

Therefore, in order to receive the vehicle license, each applicant must produce:

  • A Pass Certificate from the Vehicle Testing Station (VTS)
  • A valid insurance policy for the vehicle.

Each applicant is required to pay for the Vehicle License for each vehicle in accordance to the following rates as established under the Road Transport Act:

Vehicle Type Price

Motorcycle with/without side car

R2.50 per CC subject to a minimum fee of R200

Private/Public motor vehicle (other than motorcycle ,tractor, mobile crane, tracked motor vehicle)

R2.50 per CC subject to a minimum fee of R1000

Tractor/Mobile Crane

R2.00 per kilo subject to a minimum fee of R1000

Tracked motor vehicle & other vehicles on wheels (not elsewhere specified) including excavator,
loader handler shovel, grader, digger, road roller & heavy duty vehicle

R2.00 per kilo subject to a minimum fee of R5000

Commercial motor vehicle including trucks up to 5 tons, where the vehicle is used or intended to
be used for the conveyance of goods in connection with the trade or business of the owner of the vehicle or for hire

R2.00 per CC subject to a minimum fee of R1000

Commercial motor vehicle uncluding trucks above 5 tons, where the vehicle is intended to be
used for the conveyance of goods in connection with the trade or business of the owner of the vehicle or for hire

R2.50 per CC subject to a minimum fee of R1000

Duplicate Vehicle License is done at a fee of SR50.00.
