The Seychelles Licensing Authority (SLA) is a government body in the Seychelles responsible for administering and regulating various licenses and permits. The Authority was established under the Seychelles Licensing Act in 2010, and its functions include the issuance of licenses for businesses and individuals engaged in various activities, such as trading, tourism, transportation, and entertainment.
SLA’s role is critical in regulating and monitoring various industries in Seychelles. The Authority is responsible for administering and regulating multiple licenses that regulate business activities in the Seychelles. It ensures that all licensed activities comply with the relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines. While also conducting inspections and investigations to monitor license non-compliance. The SLA has the power to suspend or revoke licenses if licensees fail to comply with the relevant regulations or engage in illegal activities.

The Licences Act, 2010 gives powers to the Seychelles Licensing Authority to:
- Grant a New Licence
- Renew an Existing License
- Refuse To Allocate a Licence
- Suspend or Revoke a Specific License
- Attach and Vary Conditions of a License

Our Regulation
The Authority is managed by a Board which consists of seven members from both the private and public sector. The daily administration, supervision and control over the affairs of the Authority lies within the responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer. There is also a Deputy Chief Executive Officer who discharges the functions of the CEO during the absence of the CEO and performs any other duties as may be assigned by the CEO or the SLA Board.
Additionally, there is an SLA Appeals Board to hear and determine appeals against the decisions of the Authority.

Our Mandate
The mandate of the Authority is to facilitate business socio-economic development through issuing and enforcement of the Licences Act and Licence Regulations and to create the enabling environment for sustainable business development in Seychelles.
The Authority works in consultation with several other stakeholders before it approves any licence, especially licences requiring inspections by other agencies.
